DREAM - Bitten By A Pitbull (145 views)

THE DREAM : I dreamed that I was asleep and was awakened by my children ( only my two youngest adult children actually live with me now) who were moving furniture and clothes outside so that their father (my ex-husband) could move us to another house. I started getting everybody ready although I was not involved in actually moving the things. I looked outside and was surprised there was no moving van, however I could see bags of clothes and furniture in the yard.
I was engaged in a conversation with one of my ex's relatives (his uncle and his wife). The uncle and I talked about the people in the neighborhood where I lived (some of the conversation I don't remember), however, I do remember saying to the uncle that I seemed to have more clothes than furniture in my house.I also felt really confused as we talked because I did not understand why we were moving in the first place. When the uncle's wife would speak, I could not understand her because she sounded like a bird.
At some point as I was moving toward the front door, my oldest daughter ( who does not live with me) appeared and was talking about this move. She seemed happy and somehow also seemed a part of the move.We talked but I don't remember the conversation.
At some point looking out my front door and there were three dogs on the sidewalk in front of my door. I was afraid of these dogs, especially the pitbull. I was afraid for my children and grandchildren. I looked at the dogs in fear and I did some kid of movement and the smoky colored pitbull lunged at me and bit my left hand. I was afraid, but felt like I needed to just stay as still as I could so that the dog might not do more damage to me. I stood perfectly still while the dog continued to clinch my hand. After a while the dog let go of my hand. My hand had no marks, nor did it bleed, nor did it hurt. The dog stepped back and I looked at it in the eyes just briefly because I didn't want it to attack again. I tried to gather up my children and grandchildren to get them away from the dog. The dogs seemed to have moved on although I still was concerned about their welfare.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:1. I was concerned that my ex-sister-in-law had not phoned me as she said she would, concerning a fundraising event I am to attend on behalf of her son who has cancer. She is a difficult person to get to respond back to you.
2. I was concerned for the welfare of my oldest daughter who had just resigned from her job that day. She has had a lot of trouble with this job and has also had emotional incidents around this difficulty.
3. I was also concerned about reaching all the people (my children)I wanted to reach to support the fundraiser.
4. I was concerned about getting a work project done before returning to work after a vacation break.
