Below you will see a series of quotes. Each quote represents the meaning
of a particular dream(these are all dreams where the meaning is understood
totally). For instance one dream may have meant that the dreamer was having
trouble at work. In that case the quote may simply be "There is a bad atmosphere
at work". Some information is included about which dream symbols were included
in the dream(within the squares brackets). Often a sample dream is included
which shows you how the dream interpretation was reached.

ESSAY : What is the symbolic meaning of factories in dreams?
Dreams are generally creatures of the brain. So the types of thoughts they
will produce will be brain type thoughts. So any symbol must link with the
word 'thought' or the word 'feeling'. Factories can be seen as symbols of
the mind and they show looking deep into it. They are show us asking questions
about pyschology and 'why do we think the way we think'.
Factories are symbols of us trying to deeply understand the way the mind
works. Therefor look for links to real issues that you have been thinking
deeply about(especially the day before the dream). E.g.
"I dislike being unemployed because there are so many people who get
jobs on the basis of fake CV's. Who are they to decide that I am not as valuable
as the next person and why should they decide anyway. "[Dream symbol
- money factory - mint dream][the dream which this quote is based upon is
featured in full at the end of this article]
"I just wonder why we constantly chase after money and riches and nice
houses. Why do we think that way?"[Dream symbol - factory dream]
"I really feel I am understanding the PYSCHOLOGY OF THE BRAIN. Things
are really starting to click in my mind."[Dream symbol - meat factory
dream]
"I really feel like I am starting to interest my students. I know how
to feed their minds and keep them interested"[Dream symbol - food factory
dream]
Many dreams about factories are about us looking at ourselves and trying
understand why we act in certain ways. Very introspective people are
prone to factory dreams. E.g.
"Why do I think that way. I don't know why I get so obsessed about these
things? I really have to understand MY MIND AND HOW IT WORKS" [Dream
symbol - factory dream]

SAMPLE DREAM
----------------------------------
THE DREAM - In the first dream, there were two mailboxes in front of
my house ( it's the THIRD dream I have this month where there are more than
one mailbox! ). I opened one of them, it wasn't locked so anybody could open
it. It was full of money! I went to the living room and put the money on the
table, I wasn't believing that so I realized that should be fake bills. I
started to separate it, to my surprise, half the money wasn't fake so I tried
to figure where that money could have come from? Somebody mentioned sometimes
people steal it, then hide it inside mailboxes and forget completely about
it. For some reason, I looked really carefully at the fake notes. Some of
them where obviously fake, some of them I had to ask my mother's help to identify
( my mother works in a bank ).
I barely woke up and went to the second dream
I was visiting the Mint ( I mean the place where they make money ). There
were lots of people working there, and a constant machinery noise. I don't
know why, but I was helping a guy at one of the printers, holding special
paper and adjusting it to the cutter. Somebody told him to go and see the
boss, and I kept cutting the new bills. I realized he was going to be fired....
After a while, I went to see the rest of the place. There were lots of machinery
and people who worked there looked happy. Above my head, there were TONS of
mold for making coins. I looked at them fascinated, there were molds for new
coins, like the ones we use nowadays, and molds from coins used in the beginning
of past century, coins from every decade ( Brazil changed its coins and bills
almost every decade, so you may realize how many molds were there ). Then
I heard rumors I was going to be employed there, replacing the fired guy.
I wanted to go back to the machine I was very quickly, but I was lost. I went
running everywhere, all machines looked the same and I tried to find the one
with my purse. People started to prepare to go out, because work hours were
ending, there were even people playing games. A woman came and handed my purse,
I got a bit disappointed realizing I couldn't find ''my'' cutting machine
anymore. ( In waking life, I'm desperate for a job... ).
My college professor and colleagues appeared out of nowhere and I noticed
that all was a college visit. The professor said we were going to be back
next day and that gave me new hope. We got out of the mint, and as I walked
though the streets ( familiar streets next to my former college - though that
place should actually be in another city ) I was suddenly browsing through
magazine stores. There were some rings at sale there ( in waking life, I'm
actually looking for a ring to fit my pinky finger ) so I started to browse
trying to find a ring. They were all hanging above my head and were ridiculously
expensive so I bought none. I woke up.
THE REALITY The previous few days the dreamer had been talking about why she
could not find a job when there were lots of people with not much real ability.
The dreamer had also been complaining about CV's and how they do not really
show the true person. They often contain lies. People have personal qualities
that cannot be judged by paper qualifications. The dreamer also touched on
the economic situation in her country (Brazil) which was rather bad at that
time. Her long term wish for a job that she would find rewarding. Above all
the dreamer was working through her mind ideas about value - about who decides
how valuable a person is. She was feeling undervalued and thought that she
deserved a permanent job(she was working on a freelance basis).
THE INTERPRETATION Dreams do truly symbolise our thoughts. Contained within
our thoughts are concepts and ideas which are forming within us. On the night
before this dream the dreamer was frustrated because she had been unable to
find a job. Also she was annoyed that other people tend to get jobs easily
because of contacts they hold. How exactly could this dream link those thoughts?
The main symbol here is the money factory. The dream also contains fake money.
What exactly could this symbolise? Money is symbolic of value. In this case
it symbolises the way someones value is judged by the CV that they have. The
fake money in the dream is an exact parallel with the dreamers belief that
many people get jobs with fake references and with fake CV's. The factory
though is a deeper symbol. A money factory is the dreams way of asking the
question - "who decides how valuable one person is? How does one person come
to be more valuable than someone else in the job market?". So the money factory
is in fact a symbol of the mind - it symbolises how the mind creates value.
The magazine stores also link with the thoughts going through the dreamers
mind before she went to bed. Magazines shops show that we are grasping for
some ideas which capture our exact thoughts. They show us 'shopping' for words
and phrases which capture our thinking. That was the case here as the dreamer
was coming to her own considered opinion on this topic.
