Attempting something may show that others are making repeated efforts to make you do something. You may feel as if you are battling against overwhelming odds. E.g.

"My mother wants me to be more commercial in my career aims. I am trying to resist her" [Dream symbol - My mother makes several attempts]

"I am just going through a break up. I feel humiliated and rejected" [Dream symbol - teenagers are attempting to steal my car]
