PARALYZED : Paralysis is a difficult symbol in dreams because its linked to sleep phenonoma. Sleep paralysis is when you enter into an unnatural stage of sleep and start dreaming. You get a sensation of total paralysis. Yet it is actually very easy to spot as the sensation in the dream is of absolute and total physical paralysis. Its a very real sensation as if someone is actually crushing you. Dreams will reflect very real and very immediate emotions. Paralysis dreams will often be associated with aliens or witches or demons. People therefor assume that such dreams do link to demons and witches. But remember dreams are metaphors. Its easier to just say that the dreams can often simply represent the total feeling of horror as you get sleep paralysis. The dream then is saying "It was a horrible feeling. It was like I was being attacked by aliens or demons".

If the sense of paralysis is more dream like then its likely that the paralysis is a symbol. In such cases its probably best to see this as a symbol. That could represent any feeling of paralysis in real life. It could represent a dominant figure who does not let you make any decisions for yourself. It could represent a feeling that something has happened so quickly that you were unable to act in any rational way or that the forces were so strong that nothing could be done. Paralysis may simply link to feelings of depression.
