One coma dream in our studies occurred when the dreamer was thinking about her ex husband. She had taken out a restraining order out against him. So now he was well and truly out of her life. In the dream he was in a coma which symbolised that he was now no longer a threat to her. He was still alive but he could not now talk or communicate - as in a coma.

Another coma dream occurred when the dreamer realised that she had become cut off and distant from her daughter. So her coma dream was a recognition that she had not been talking to her daughter. In a coma you are truly cut off and distant so this was an excellent metaphor for someone who has become emotionally distant.
