DREAM DICTIONARY - Overcome :Overcoming something is probably a symbol of something quite major. For you something has been very difficult and its been a real challenge. Maybe you achieved something which you never thought possible? Maybe you realise you have to overcome something which is a real problem for you (almost a phobia).
Being overcome emotionally suggests that something big has just happened or that you are worrying about something. Emotions are running high and maybe someone has done something extreme? Perhaps you are finding it difficult to do the right thing in such a charged atmosphere?

However, he did not want to go and she wanted to respect his own judgement. However, she would have felt guilty if anything bad had happened
