DREAM DICTIONARY - Music :

Music often symbolises the 'mood'. If the music is chaotic then it could represent some chaotic mood the night before.

QUESTIONS to help you make associations(pick the one that makes most sense to you)
- Did everything seem to fit into a pattern yesterday? Evereything go totally wrong or totally badly?
- Have you been trying to establish some mood?
- Have you been trying to get ideas to fit together consistently ?
- Has someone made you feel especially welcome or unwelcome?

(Now write down some quotes that sum up your thoughts and feelings right now. Concentrate on incidents the day before, paranoias and fantasies, health issues, challenges of the day ahead. Then try to see where the words and phrases above appear in your quotes).

EXAMPLE DREAMS

Example dream : A dream where a rock song is being played was linked to the radio playing whilst he was asleep. He woke up and really enjoyed the loud rock song which he had heard during sleep. What is interesting about this dream was that the dream seems to indicate that the song was good and when the dreamer woke up he did enjoy the song a lot.
Example dream : Music in a dream linked to the dreamers thoughts about his mood. He realised that he should be worrying more about a tough meeting coming the next day. The song near my god to thee
Example dream : The song with the lyrics "people are all the same - you can turn back the sands of time" was particularly relevant to the dreamer at the time. He had had a terrible childhood and felt it was impossible to get out of the cycle of deprivation. At the time of the dream though he did feel a glimmer of hope and felt that life could be better in the future.
Example dream : A song with the lyrics "Your so vain - you probably think this song is about you" was very relevant at the time of the dreamer. He had been a bit self obsessed in pushing his ideas at work. He was a little worried that people might spot this. The lyrics of the song were therefore an excellent metaphor for something happening at the time.
Example dream : A hymn with the words "Nearer my God to thee" (from the film Titanic) was relevant to the dreamer at the time of the dream. The next day he was facing a major challenge. The dreamer was surprised that he was not freaking out so close to the event. Hence his dream used the scene as the Titanic was about to sink as a metaphor.
Example dream : A song about two little boys sharing their toys was linked to the dreamers feeling about a friend. He was sure that she would help him out if he was in need. The lyrics were a good metaphor for a situation in his life at the time.
Example dream : A dream with the song "We will rock you" captured the dreamers mood about her son as she managed to make a real breakthrough.
Example dream : A football song dream was linked to the dreamer thinking about a group of people. They had a good sense of team spirit which the football song captured perfectly. This sense of togetherness had touched the dreamer the day before.
Example dream : A dream where the dreamer is singing a song linked to the dreamer trying to pull off a lie. He knew he had to be consistent in every way and that his story had to stick together harmoniously. The song was a symbol for this story to be consistent and hang together.
Example dream : A dream about soft music linked to the dreamer being made to feel at home the previous night. Music was symbolic of the pleasant atmosphere.
Example dream : A piano dream was linked to the dreamer trying to sit down and concentrate on her college project. The piano was symbolic of doing something on her own in harmony.
Example dream : A dream about loud music in a nightclub was linked to the previous evening when the dreamer tried to make someone feel very welcome. Things were moving quickly making it difficult to get a good atmosphere.
Example dream : A loud music dream linked to the dreamer thinking about the previous day. Things had been very chaotic (hence the music was loud). But he coped with all the problems well hence the music which symbolised things going well.
