DREAM DICTIONARY - Exam :

When we are at school we are tested. Yet in life we constantly have to prove ourselves. Exams can represent our day to day need to meet the challenges of life. Failure in exams may hint that you are not meeting the standards required. Either the is pressure on you to do better or you are failing to match your own very high standards.

EXAMPLE DREAMS

Example dream : Cheating in an exam in a dream linked to the dreamer thinking through a new approach of writing reports. He had very high standards and felt that cutting corners was cheating. Yet he felt that this new method was an acceptable compromise.
Example dream : Doing an exam whilst incapable symbolised the dreamers tendency to judge himself harshly - someone who did not meet the grade
Example dream : A exam in a dream linked to the dreamers tough job. He was a radio presenter and had to meet the highest standards in a very competitive environment. He constantly had to "pass the test".
Example dream : A dream where the dreamer just gets a basic pass in an exam linked to the dreamers deteriorating health which was affecting his abilities.
Example dream : In one dream the dreamer was complaining about having to do two exams in one day. The dream reminded the dreamer of when he did school exams. He worked for three hours without a moments rest going at top pace. The dream was about the dreamers failing health and the exams were a symbol of his inability to cope with working at top speed without a rest.
Example dream : A dream in which time is running out and the dreamer cannot complete an exam took place when the dreamer was unwell. Just recently he had been trying to pull himself together and see if he could manage working more. He had some success at this, but in the last day or two he was feeling very unwell. He was totally incapable of coping with any time pressures. He was totally incapable of making the grade. The dream tapped into the feeling "I have been trying to push myself and reach my true potential but recently my health has been hindering" An exam was a particularly relevant symbol which linked to thoughts like "I need to go at my fastest speed" ("exam speed").
Example dream : An exam in a dream linked to the dreamers failing health. The dreamer was increasingly tired and worn out and knew he could not manage to sustain the pace he used to. In particular he could not work fast, like you have to do in an exam. He was now finding work very difficult - he was failing the test (exam) of good health.
