DREAM DICTIONARY - Bible :

Dreams are symbolic in that they are metaphors for current feelings. A "bible" dream for instance may simply mean that yesterday you were reminding yourself to look up something in a book which you consider a bible of some kind (eg the film industry bible or the Cricketers bible). Read the quotes below to help you guess what the symbolic meaning of "bible" meant in your particular dream.

KEY WORDS and PHRASES :
- "That book contains all the knowledge"
- "He swears blind by that manual"
- "he is always preaching to us"
- "I was thinking about religion yesterday" (your dream may connect with some thought about religion or something someone did which you have been thinking about from a religious point of view)

Dreams make associations. Think of anything that comes to mind when you read through the list of word associations above. Dreams will especially link to recent thoughts and moods. If you can think of a way in which you might use one of these words then the dream may just capture that exact thought. Dreams will translate into conscious thoughts - the type of thing you would write down in a diary.

EXAMPLE DREAMS

Example dream : A dream where the dreamer is chanting Bible verses linked to just before she went to sleep. She sensed this strange presence and she was trying to use her psychic powers to warn off this evil spirit. In real life he was not reciting the Bible but this is the type of thing that people would do in that situation. It was a "reciting the Bible" kind of moment. Quite often dreams will recreate the scene using situations which are similar but not identical to real life. Dreams will define what a situation was like by using situations which are similar. The Bible is associated with issues of "Good" versus "Evil" which had obvious relevance in this situation.
Example dream : Reading bible verses in a dream was linked to the dreamers thoughts about her ex getting married. In the bible we read stories which help us overcome the difficulties in our lives. The dream probably links to her attempts to come to terms with this big change and grow as a person. The dream could catch this exact thought "I have been thinking a lot about my ex getting married. I am trying to make sense of this and come to terms. How can I grow as a person from this hardship."
Example dream : A dream where there was some kind of "apocalypse" or "Biblical war" linked to the dreamers failing health. He saw nothing left but pain and death. The "Biblical" war was a symbol of these major changes in his life. We associate the "Bible" with major changes and big metaphors like "plagues", "wars" and other sweeping changes. Most of these "big" metaphors are linked to negative change.
